Business Card for: Steves&Co.

Having always been inspired by the use of raw, recycled materials used in a refined way, we
wanted these business cards to reflect the ability to create beautiful things out of everyday materials.

We didn’t want to use expensive card, to show quality, but instead a cheap, recycled board, used creatively to show character. Unavailable for purchase in business card size, these boards had to be bought in A1 and then hand-cut them into manageable sizes to be able to print them using silk screen. This didn’t put us off. We engaged Alexandra Aquilina, who has been producing her own collection of silk screen products and put her in charge of silk screen printing. Since our primary corporate colour is a light green/blue, we wanted to carry this onto our cards in a subtle way. Having used builders’ board for stencils to use with MTN90 spray paint, we knew that the effect and colour of the spray on the card gave the look we desired.

Once painted, the cards were cut at a printing press to achieve clean cut edges to contrast with the raw texture of the material. They were then pressed together and sprayed in small batches to achieve the best results.
